THE MOST WONDERFUL CRIME OF THE YEAR
ALLY CARTER

Margaret Chase and Ethan Wyatt, mystery authors and sworn enemies, get a mysterious invitation to spend Christmas with “their biggest fan.” When they arrive at their destination, Eleanor Ashely’s house (the greatest mystery writer of all time), things start looking up. But then Eleanor disappears. From a locked room. In the middle of the night.
I didn’t go into this one with the highest expectations, and I was wrong. Very wrong. This book was so good. I love a good enemies to lovers AND he falls first story. There’s not a lot of ways that could go wrong for me.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS & JUST MIGHTS
RANEE S. CLARK

Ivy is more than excited to spend Christmas in Denver with her best friend, Law. He’s invited his family and closest friends to come watch his football game on Christmas Day. Law’s neighbor/friend, Chad, is in need of some help with his girls while on their vacation and Ivy is happy to step in. She’s been friends with the single dad for a while. So why is she feeling the way she is about him now?
Christmas Lights & Just Mights was an adorable Christmas novella. The Christmas cheer was off the charts! Overall, I really enjoyed this story. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. Check it out!

MURDER FOR CHRISTMAS
FRANCIS DUNCAN

Mordecai Tremaine is invited to spend Christmas at Benedict Grame’s country retreat for his annual Christmas party. The festivities are full of Christmas cheer until an extra present is found under the Christmas tree—a dead body.
This book was a little slow to start and it took a while for me to be able to keep all of the characters straight. Once I got a handle on things, I quite enjoyed this book. Every person had that one thing that made them look guilty so I really had no idea what happened until the very end. The ending was pretty abrupt, but I’m not totally mad about it (I guess?).

THE CHRISTMAS YES LIST
MELISSA FERGUSON

Chloe is determined to break her people pleasing tendencies. After quitting her job and moving back home right before the holidays, she feels motivated to change. Rejection therapy is just what she needs. She hatches a plan to be blatantly rejected by 10 strangers by Christmas.
The Christmas Yes List was a fun holiday romance with the perfect holiday vibes. The romance between Chloe and James was cute. Their banter was funny and I loved how they clicked from the very beginning.

CHECKING YOU TWICE
LARISSA HOMMES

Hockey player, Holden Prescott never expected to find love, let alone for it to fall straight into his arms. After catching a falling photographer and saving her from serious injury, he finds himself captivated by her excitement and carefree spirit. They share an impulsive kiss under the mistletoe and expect to never see each other again. When Belle accepts her boyfriend’s invitation to a Colorado resort the week before Christmas, the last person she expects to see is her mistletoe mystery man. Who also happens to be her boyfriend’s cousin…
Checking You Twice was a fun Christmas romance. Both Belle and Holden were realistic characters with likable qualities. I loved their instant connection. This would be a great story to read if you’re in the mood for the holidays. Definite Hallmark vibes.

CHRISTMAS, CRIMINALS, AND CAMPERS
TONYA KAPPES

Abby Fawn could not be more excited when she finds out that her favorite author is coming to town for an extended stay. She has rented a camper at the Happy Trails Campground and plans to work on her latest project. Things don’t look very good when Abby is found standing over the dead authors’ body holding a knife.
I will admit that I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, it reminded me of watching an episode of Psych. And I loved that. My less positive feelings about this book could stem from the fact that this is book #4 in the series and I haven’t read the previous 3… I felt like maybe there was a little bit of information that I was missing out on. That being said, I will argue that more of my confusion had to do with the writing in the book. There were some typos and mistakes in the story. I found myself pausing often and rereading sentences because I was confused.

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
WENDY LOGGIA

Bailey Briggs loves all things Christmas. Her biggest Christmas wish is to have someone to kiss under the mistletoe this year. Who will it be? The charming and British Charlie, or the boy she’s known forever, Jacob?
As an avid reader I may be biased, but I loved that our main character, Bailey, works at a book store. Not only that, but Bailey and Jacob start their “relationship” when she helps him pick out books as Christmas presents for his family! How adorable, I love it!

HOW TO KISS ON CHRISTMAS MORNING
JENNY PROCTOR

Megan accepts a job opportunity over the holidays at Stonebrook Farm. It’ll be a nice getaway. All she has to do is answer the phones and keep an eye on the place. Easy. She’s supposed to be alone, which is perfect. She needs to study. No one told her she’d be sharing the house with a grumpy farmhand who doesn’t want her there.
I really enjoyed How to Kiss on Christmas Morning. Megan is Alec’s sister from the Appies series, and Noah is a Hawthorne cousin to the guys in the Hawthorne Brothers series. I love all the connections Jenny Proctor has throughout her books.

IZZY AND HER OFF-LIMITS LOVE
EMMA ST. CLAIR, JENNY PROCTOR

Izzy has had a crush on Liam for as long as she can remember. After he brought his girlfriend home for Christmas last year, she’s tried to move on. All of a sudden, he’s back in town and working as a consultant at her office.
I’m not the biggest fan of novellas, but I would definitely check this out if you have read the other books in the Oakley Island Series. Seeing all of the characters years later was actually really entertaining.

THE TWELVE HOLIDATES
EMMA ST. CLAIR

Taylor is in love with her best friend, Weston. She kissed him back when they were thirteen, only to learn he didn’t feel the same. She won’t go down that road again. When Taylor breaks up with her boyfriend, Weston steps in to go on the twelve ‘holidates’ she had planned in hopes it will demonstrate how he feels about her.
There is nothing better than a Christmas Romance. It’s so magical! I really enjoyed this novella about best friends who have ‘secretly’ loved each other their whole friendship. The story line was cute. There was love, there was Christmas, there was a crazy grandma. It was 84 pages and then it was over.

CABIN CRUSH
KASEY STOCKTON

Racheal has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Max, since forever. Too bad he’s never felt that way about her. Or at least that’s what she thinks.
This was an adorable Christmas read! Who doesn’t love a good friends to lovers storyline? As soon as I started reading, I was hooked and had this sucker read in about three days. The will they, won’t they of it all had me saying “Oh, just one more chapter and then I’ll go to bed.”

MY MERRY MISTAKE
COURTNEY WALSH

Raya is a workaholic. She thrives on being busy. But a serious health scare has her life turned upside down. The doctor’s recommendation: rest. How is she supposed to do that?!? Finn has been waiting for Raya to take him seriously. Maybe this is his chance to prove to her he’s more than just a goofy guy who plays hockey.
I loved My Merry Mistake! The story was fun and festive. The Christmas cheer was great! I’d give it a 5/5 on the Christmas spirit scale. I loved the family and friend relationships, especially the sisterly bonds between the three sisters.

PLANES, REINS, AND AUTOMOBILES
KATE WATSON

Oliver and Poppy are both flying to Rochester for family events. Their first impressions of each other are less than stellar, but when their connecting flight is canceled due to weather, the two end up sharing a rental car to make the drive.
There were some tough topics throughout the book that influenced our main characters, and I thought the author handled them really well. It was a cute rom-com, but there was a lot of emotion to this story as well. I would highly recommend this book!
