Bailey Briggs loves all things Christmas. Her biggest Christmas wish is to have someone to kiss under the mistletoe this year. Who will it be? The charming and British Charlie, or the boy she’s known forever, Jacob?

This book was pretty cute and it grew on me the further I got into it. As the story progressed, I had a feeling that things weren’t exactly what we thought they were, and I am glad to say that I was correct. No spoilers here though.

I loved all the different Christmas activities that happened during the book. There were Christmas dress up days at school, the Christmas tree farm, and of course their annual Christmas cookie swap, just to name a few. I think that I may have to start/find a cookie swap to be a part of. I may even try and make the cookies from the book. There is a recipe and everything!

As an avid reader I may be biased, but I loved that our main character, Bailey, works at a book store. Not only that, but Bailey and Jacob start their “relationship” when she helps him pick out books as Christmas presents for his family! How adorable, I love it!

As far as Christmas Spirit goes I would give this book 5 out of 5 Christmas Trees! I don’t know that you could work any more Christmas into a book.

As someone who’s fairly picky on what I consider a good teen romance these days, I have to say that I didn’t really enjoy this book. I’m also not the most into holiday/Christmas reading, so take all of what I have to say with a grain of salt. Especially since my past (teen) self probably would have enjoyed this book a lot more than I did now.

I kinda wanted to DNF this book at the beginning, but as I forced myself to continue reading, it did get better. It also got easier to look past all of the little things that were bothering me. The characters were pretty immature and wishy washy and it was driving me crazy. Especially Bailey. The whole party situation at the beginning of the book is a good example: she implied she wasn’t the type of person to ever go to a party only to ask her friends to go to one and get mad when they didn’t want to. Then she went to the party by herself and implied that the house getting trashed was why she would never throw a party herself. It was just one contradiction after another. I also don’t like to consider myself a grinch, but maybe I am. This was over the top Christmassy Hallmark vibes, and way too much for me—5/5 Christmas trees.

All I Want for Christmas was a cute, young adult story jam packed with Christmas cheer. I loved it for that. It was so very merry with all the Christmas things–shopping for gifts, a cookie exchange, sledding, a visit to a Christmas tree farm, the North Pole… I can’t think of a more festive story. I do have to admit that I don’t think I’m exactly the target audience for this book so there were a few moments where I couldn’t help but cringe. The “OMG’s” were too much for me. Do kids actually say that these days? Overall, I thought it was a cute Christmas story and I probably would have really loved it as a teen. The love triangle situation was fun. The Christmas dates/activities were adorable. And the Christmas magic… it blew me away in the end. No joke, I gasped out loud and immediately texted my sisters. They had already read it so they knew how it ended. That’s the kind of thing I love while reading! So, because of that, I’m going to say I’d recommend this book to anyone, of any age. Just know you might roll your eyes at the teenage behavior a few times if you, yourself, are not a teen. 5/5 Christmas Trees!
