THE ASSASSIN'S BLADE

The Assassin’s Blade is a collection of Novellas that delve into Celaena Sardothien’s world prior to The Throne of Glass series. We see her as a member of the Assassin’s Guild working alongside other assassins. The novellas move from one to the other in chronological order, reading like a regular book.

I really enjoyed diving into Celaena’s past. My research prior to starting this series led me to believe that this book should be read 3rd in the series so I have already read Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight. Because of that, I had a sense of who Celaena is as a character and a little bit about her past. I did enjoy reading The Assassin’s Blade at this point in the story. It explained a few things that were hinted at in the other books and even though I knew how it was going to end, I found myself hoping I was wrong. I find Celaena fascinating. Yes, she is the deadliest assassin in the kingdom, but she’s also a girl. She loves pretty dresses and reading books. It’s interesting to be able to connect with her character while also not connecting at all, as I am not a trained assassin…
