After returning from Vegas, the Naturals continue to try to solve the mystery of Cassie’s mom’s disappearance and how it connects to a creepy cult of serial killers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. And I feel kind of hypocritical about that because this story carried over all of the creepy cult stuff that made me uncomfortable in the previous book. But everything was handled completely different here. Things made sense. I didn’t feel like the case they were working on was randomly forced in a disturbing direction. So, I’ll stand by my decision that it’s okay for me to like Bad Blood even though I really didn’t vibe with All In.

Once I got past the first few chapters, I was completely invested in the story and didn’t want to stop reading. I love these characters, and I feel like they’ve come such a long way since the start of the series. Their relationships with each other, and their trust in each other, were finally where I wanted them to be. So maybe I jumped the gun a little bit when I said I wanted them to be perfect in Killer Instinct (book 2). What can I say? Patience isn’t one of my virtues.

I also really enjoyed how all of the mystery plots were handled. I liked how they took a different approach to solving the case by looking into Nightshade, his background, and how he was connected to Cassie. It was fun to see the Naturals in a small-town environment and how they were willing to help solve a case even though it wasn’t what they were “there for.” And… I enjoyed the ending. I thought it was very fitting. There were some good plot twists too.

Overall, I enjoyed my time reading The Naturals series and I would highly recommend it. This is the last full-length novel in the series (apparently book #5 is coming out in November?), but there’s a novella that I’m looking forward to reading next.
