After Christmas vacation, the Naturals head to Las Vegas to help solve a string of murders.

I don’t really know how I feel about this book. Part of me liked it because I felt like there was a lot of growth in the relationships between all of the characters, which is what I wanted more of in the previous book. But I also didn’t really vibe with the ending. It kind of turned out to be a lot of set up for the next book, which I’m not necessarily mad about. Things just took a really dark turn that I wasn’t expecting.

It very well could be a me problem. I probably wasn’t in the best headspace while I was reading it. I just kept feeling so hopeless for these kids—everything kept going wrong and they couldn’t catch a break. And things just kept getting worse! I know things have to go bad in mystery books. I get that that’s the whole point. I just wasn’t really vibing with this.

On the other side of things, I enjoyed the mystery and trying to figure out what was going on. The pattern of everything, and how it all connected was crazy. And I loved how involved Sloane was in everything. It was almost like she was put on the back burner in the previous books, but she really felt like part of the team, part of the family, here. And it was about time.

Anyways, I will be reading the next book because I need to know what happens. But I hope it leaves me feeling a little bit lighter than I do now.
