Evie and The Villain continue their mission to save Rennedawn with the help of friends and family.
I was pretty much obsessed with Assistant to the Villain. I loved every minute of that book. So it pains me to say that I didn’t really enjoy Accomplice to the Villain. It’s not that I hated it, I just felt like the story was dragging along… In this book, we continue the plot line we started in book #2. Here, it felt like a wild goose chase. And maybe it’s supposed to be? But it felt so chaotic and random that I found myself wishing the story was over. Sure, the pieces of the story mostly fit together in the end, and it seems like it will all come together really well at the end of the story in the next book. Trystan was also so angry throughout the whole story so I don’t feel like it had the same humor and light heartedness that the first book had. We do learn more about some of the other characters and that was my favorite part of the book. We read from many of their points of view, so maybe that contributed to the chaotic storytelling? The ending was pretty much insane though. Bombs were dropped. I never saw any of it coming. I’m not the best at predicting these kinds of things though, so take that into consideration… Now I have to wait who-knows-how-long to read what happens next. As of now, there is no release date for the 4th, and final, book (according to Goodreads). I am excited to see what happens in the end.
P.S. I love the map in the beginning of the book. The map in each of these books has made me laugh. It’s a fun element to these stories.
