Carlie has been burned by love before and doesn’t know if she will ever trust anyone again. Law is determined to prove to her that he can be trusted.

With a title like Tight Ends & True Crime I thought the true crime aspect would be more prevalent, especially in the first half of the book, and also more believable. I was never buying that the neighbor just up and killed his wife. Perhaps, maybe if she wasn’t working for the neighbor and he wasn’t already Law's friend it would have been more believable. Make him the mysterious neighbor. Kinda like The Burbs–if you’ve ever seen that movie.

The main character, Carlie, was a wee bit annoying in how she was constantly assuming the worst of everyone. Also, the third act break up over Law not mentioning that Ivy had dated his brother… What the heck? Why did she feel she had the right to be that upset with him over that? Anywho, I think my complaints are over.

It was a cute book, but I feel like it wasn’t thought out too well. In all fairness, I am not a Jane Austen fan. So, I have no idea what story this is based off of, and she may have nailed it for all I know.

Overall, this book was pretty much average in my mind. It wasn’t a great romance, and it wasn’t a great mystery either. Just kinda average. It was fun to revisit some characters from the first book, The Comeback. All this being said, I’m still probably gonna read the next one in the series.
