Selah has always been fascinated by the unexplained. There seem to be a lot of strange occurrences involving her town, Foggy Hollow. When a new Vandenberg descendent moves to town to live in the house the previous Vandenberg family disappeared from, Selah is more than curious.
Wicked is the Hollow is a great book for the spooky season. It’s a big mystery, with a treasure hunt vibe. In a way, it reminded me of National Treasure. There is a lot of history that our main characters dive into as they try to make sense of the past. The format of the book kept things exciting with journal entries, news articles, and a podcast episode. I really enjoyed the variety in formats.
There are a lot of pieces to this puzzle. At times, it felt a little bit overwhelming. The Vandenberg family tree was pretty big and there were a lot of characters in the past we learned about. But I would say that everything came together well in the end and I really enjoyed the plot twists along the way. I couldn’t have guessed the specific details of the plot. I was continually surprised. I enjoyed my time reading Wicked is the Hollow and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!

I loved it! 10/10 highly recommend! This book had me so enveloped in it that I read it in under 24 hours. I loved it all! The setting, the storyline, the supernaturalness... Perfection!
Their little town reminded me of Mystic Falls from the Vampire Diaries. I loved all the little celebrations about the town’s rebirth. The “ball” scene gave me flashbacks to when Elena came down the stairs to find Damon waiting for her instead of Stephan! Anyways, loved the small town celebrations in the book.
I really liked how everything flowed together and how their “investigation” all came together. Every clue from throughout the book was brought together in the end, and I can’t wait to read the next one!
Overall, fantastic book. I highly recommend it!

This book was a little bit slow to start. It took a while for me to be invested in the mystery that Selah, Twig, and Jude were trying to solve. It was almost like there were too many puzzle pieces for just one puzzle, and half the book was deciding which puzzle we were going to build. But maybe that was on purpose, and those extra pieces are for the next book in the series.
That all being said, I liked the story. I liked the ending. I liked the plot twists. I liked the slow burn romance (and that there was no hint of a love triangle). I’m excited to read the next book.
