After moving from Arizona to Forks, Washington, Bella was instantly drawn to Edward. Bella was bound and determined to figure out what made Edward so special. The last thing she expected was to discover he’s a vampire.

Oh Twilight. Fun fact for everyone here, Twilight is what started our book club and henceforth led to this blog. Both of my dearly beloved sisters love all things Twilight and forced me into watching the movies years ago. Then they also decided we all needed to read them and discuss. Hence the book club was formed. One thing I do have to say is that after reading the book, the movie makes so much more sense.

I find it easier to get behind the story in the book if I'm imagining people who actually look like high schoolers and not Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. No offense to them, I’m just not buying them as high schoolers. With the intensity and speed of this love story, it just settles better in my mind if I can remind myself that these are just kids, well Bella is, Edward is a forever kid, you know. They fall hard and fast. It is very early in their “relationship” when Bella is all “I can’t live without you” and what not. A little dramatic to say the least. But again, remember they are kids. All kids are dramatic, right?

I would also like to point out the fact that Jacob never had a chance, and as a movie watcher first, I was definitely Team Jacob. But, after reading Twilight, he really never had a chance! Many times Bella refers to him as a good friend. She feels bad for leading him on because nothing is ever going to happen there between them. So you see, where on earth did Team Jacob come from? People like me who never read the books and watched the movie? Cuz lets be honest, he never really had a chance in the movie either.

Overall, Twilight ain’t half bad. Is it literary genius? Not really… But hey, I really didn’t mind reading it. So there’s that.
