Macy has spent the past year and a half trying to be perfect. She has the perfectly ironed clothes, the perfectly parted hair, and the perfectly controlled attitude. She also has the perfect summer plans: filling in for her perfect boyfriend at his library job. Then, on a whim, she decides to accept the offer of a not so perfect job at a not so perfect catering company.

Yep. I loved it. This was another beautiful work of art by Sarah Dessen and another one of my favorites. I loved the storyline. I loved all of the characters. Okay, maybe not all of them—Macy’s mom left a lot to be desired, but everybody else was great. Kristy, Monica, Bert, and Delia were so funny. And, of course, I loved Macy and Wes. It was really nice to see Macy let go of trying to be perfect and just live her life… for herself. And Wes was the perfect reformed bad boy. This was definitely a slow burn, and I was here for it.

I love all of the deeper meanings and life lessons that are found in this book, but it was also just a really fun read. I couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculous email situation with Macy’s “boyfriend” while he was at brain camp, the mean girls at the library, and the fact that EVERYTHING always went wrong at the catering jobs. It was pretty much perfect, in a good way. I highly recommend.
