THE ONE WITH THE KISS CAM

Nora has a plan for her life. She’s focused and she works hard. When her friend convinces her to have a little fun, she ends up on an uncomfortable blind date at a basketball game, wishing she was anywhere else. During the half time show, her date goes to grab a snack and Nora looks up to see herself on the kiss cam with the stranger on the other side of her.

Somebody please, please make this book into a movie! It’s the cutest thing I’ve ever read! I want to give this book an award. All the awards. If I had a Golden Buzzer, this book gets it! The first chapter was hilarious. I was immediately sucked in. The writing was so entertaining, I couldn’t help laughing and smiling the entire way through. If you’ve ever gone on a date you didn’t really want to be on, you’ll instantly connect with Nora. And you’ll subsequently fall for her knight in shining armor, Duke. These characters were so much fun to read about. I loved their story! I thought the timeline was very well done–I appreciated the character’s development and that their story wasn’t a whirlwind romance. Duke and the Dr. Pepper… I had tears in my eyes! That was the sweetest thing I’ve ever read. There’s something about a man understanding your love for a certain caffeinated beverage. You HAVE TO read this!  I was up way, way, way past my bedtime finishing this book. I could not be stopped. The One with the Kiss Cam is easily one of my favorite books. I’m recommending it to everyone I know. I’m super excited to check out Cindy Steel’s other books!

Have you ever read a book where all of the little things just kept adding up to too many similarities in your life? Where everything was just hitting way too close to home and making you feel like crap about yourself? Yeah… that was this book for me. It was a good book. It was cute, funny, fast paced, and thoroughly entertaining. I loved the main characters and their romance. Their ridiculous banter over arm rests, bucket lists, and Dr. Pepper and Coke (though it’s always better out of a can. Not bottles or fountain drinks, just cans) was hilarious. I also liked all the different settings (basketball game, work, the farm) and how everything wrapped up in the end. But, at this point in my life, I don’t see myself reading this book again. That’s entirely a me problem, and I think everybody else would love this book. Also, was nobody else concerned about the fact that Duke was drinking warm coke most of the time? I know one of my sisters thinks that’s completely normal, but it really isn’t. I guess that’s just what you have to do for love.

Can I say down right adorable? Because that pretty much sums up this book. I almost loved every second of it. When I realized the book was about to have a three year time jump, I was quite upset. Like, what the heck? You’re telling me that they really didn’t stay in touch when she moved away! But, the book redeemed itself and I’m all here for it!

I loved Duke's obsession with bucket lists. Him holding onto doing the Dirty Dancing lift with Nora all those years, amazing. I also loved how Nora wanted to do the, be in two places at once, bucket list item from A Walk To Remember. It’s so stinking cute.

I love Duke and how he was unashamed to be flirting with Nora around the office and anywhere else. Their little soda thing… so adorable! I’m starting to think that I’m going to need to find a new word instead of cute/adorable…

Full disclosure: I picked up the book to continue reading (at page 60) and read until I finished, which was at 2 AM. So, basically, I read the majority of this book in the middle of the night. I have heard, from my sister, that emotions run higher in those hours. So perhaps this book isn’t down right adorable, but to me it is and always will be!

I highly recommend this book to any lovers of a cute, clean romance.
