The List is a great summer romance. The setting was ideal for summer. Ashley spends a few months in Huntington Beach with her cousins. She surfs almost every day and spends a lot of time outside on the beach.

I really enjoyed reading the first half of the book. The idea of Ashley having a list of things she wanted to do and working on accomplishing them was fun. I thought the characters were amusing and witty. Their sense of humor was fun to read. The whole situation with the beach town singles ward was hilarious too. The hierarchy and dynamics of the ward were all too real. There were some really cheesy moments, but overall, it was fun to read.

I kind of felt like Ashley lost her mind in the second half of the book… maybe the last quarter. And that made it hard for me to finish. I won’t give anything away here. But I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted, at times cheesy, summer LDS romance.
