I am gonna be honest I don’t know that I can write a summary of this book myself because I am not convinced that I even know what this book is about. So, here is the one from the back of the book… "Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there–but many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King. To win a place at the Court, Jude must defy him–and face the consequences."

Just now, as I was copying that summary over, I am still convinced that I did not completely understand this book. There was just so much going on. It starts off with so much random information about this mythical land that I could not keep up. I am still unsure if it is a land of various creatures or if they are all the same creature but each have different powers/abilities/looks. For example, each of the king's kids were described so differently (one has a tail) and they are siblings, right? So, that would mean that each person is an individual and it is luck of the draw what you would end up like? But then you have ogres/trolls which lead me to believe they are possibly different species? I am confused.

Okay, other than me not understanding the workings of this world, I would say I followed the plot line well, I just didn’t get the motivation behind it. Why not just leave and go back to the human world? Her sister offered multiple times but she always refused saying she needed to stay, but why…

Right now it is pretty much a 50-50 shot whether or not I will read the next book. The only reason that I would read it is because I am curious as to what Prince Cardan is going to do after Jude’s bait and switch she pulled at the end of the book. But another part of me honestly doesn’t care. So stay tuned. Maybe one day I will review the second book.
