Ireland has been ditched by her father and has found herself homeless, living in a bathroom off of a hiking trail. Kal has a Superman complex and feels he needs to fix everyone else's problems.

I would say that this book is average… I didn’t love it, and I didn’t hate it. I am pretty indifferent to it. The whole concept of the book is interesting. You have a homeless high schooler and a boy who wants to help but doesn’t want her to know it was him. I appreciate the fact that adults were involved in the book and it wasn’t just kids trying to solve adult issues.

At the beginning of the book I was kinda concerned about the fact that Kal's interest in Ireland began because she looks like his old girlfriend. It was definitely giving Vampire Diaries vibes with how Damon and Stephan were interested in Elena because she looked just like Katherine… Anywho, good news is that it seems to fade after the beginning of the book and it shows that he is truly interested in Ireland herself.

This book explores many different issues that teenagers could be dealing with. For that reason this book is kinda sad but not quite to a tear jerker level. So proceed with caution, if you want a cute fluffy romance, this ain’t it.
