Kissing a Kent Brother #2

Dalia Dantez is having a moment. Her best friend/roommate is getting married. She has to move out of their house and the only apartment she can find won’t be ready for six weeks. And, to top it all off, the brother of the groom is the man who ghosted her over a year ago after she was sure they shared a genuine connection.
Spoke Too Soon is the second book in the Kissing a Kent Brother series. We start where we left off in the first one, so I highly recommend reading that one first. This story was a little unexpected for me. I knew it was a sweet romance about a boy and girl who don’t get along, end up sharing an apartment for a short time, and I was assuming they’d eventually be forced to admit to their feelings for each other after living in such close quarters. You know how this trope goes… Ultimately, that is what happened in the book, but the way it happened was not what I had predicted. I can’t explain it without giving away too much, just know that this story might not be the cut and dry enemies to lovers, forced proximity book you might be expecting. I enjoyed my time reading it, but I’ll admit I liked the first book better. Daria is our main female character and she is so mean! Like, really mean. And rude. Especially to Dane, our main male character. Daria had her reasons for acting like she did, but I had a hard time liking her and rooting for her because she was so abrasive. Just like in the first book, the author made her characters very human. They’ve got their strengths and weaknesses and I thought that was a nice aspect to the story. I believe there is going to be a third book, but it isn’t out yet. I recommend checking out this series.

There is a male/female relationship to the extent of kissing/making out. They do say the word sex–in the context of them being roommates but not sleeping together.
