After a difficult break up with her boyfriend of two years, Thea decides to take the romantic trip they had planned. Sure, she thought she would be getting engaged, but who says she can’t enjoy the trip on her own? One thing leads to another and Thea finds herself on the run, with a man she just met.

Runaway Rule was so much fun to read! I absolutely loved it. This book was an excellent rom-com. The combination of romance, comedy, and action balanced the story out perfectly. I loved the character’s sense of humor. The story was entertaining and full of chaos (in the best way). There were so many unanswered questions that kept me turning page after page late into the night. I had to know what was going to happen! Little snippets of information were revealed at the right time in the story and everything came together well in the end.

I really enjoyed Thea and Pierce as characters. Especially together. Their banter was hilarious. Their chemistry was sizzling from the 25% mark. It was a lot of fun to read. Pierce was stoic and unstoppable. Thea was innocent and trusting. Their situation with the bad guys got crazier and crazier as the book went on! Although the story felt very lighthearted and had a comedic tone, the characters were dealing with some more serious issues that added a layer of depth to their story.

The setting of Runaway Rule was a lot of fun too. The story begins in Mexico with Thea on vacation. They do a short stint on a cruise ship before getting back to The United States. Overall, I thought it felt very summery. I would highly recommend you add Runaway Rule to your Summer TBR! Take my word for it, I don’t want to give too much away. You’re going to love Runaway Rule!
