Capri Collins has been writing and publishing romance novels under the pen name ‘Sunny Palmer’ for years. One of her first books has become quite popular among readers, and unfortunately that book (Secret Crush) is based off her real-life long-time crush on her neighbor, Tristan Palmer, and what she wishes would have happened with them when they were younger. She’s been avoiding Sunset Harbor Island in hopes her family and friends won’t connect the dots between her and Secret Crush. When she ends up on the island indefinitely, Tristan convinces her to spend time with him as friends.

No surprise that I loved this book! I found myself smiling more often than not while I was reading it. The characters were so funny. I loved the banter between many of the characters. Capri is more on the quiet side, but she has no problem being herself in front of Tristan. I loved how they teased each other. Tristan’s brother Beau is a police officer on the Island, and every time he made an appearance, I was laughing to myself. Their relationship was hilarious. I can’t wait to read Beau’s book. Capri’s bother-in-law, Heath, was really funny too. I loved his character. I really enjoyed remembering the events that happened in the other Falling for Summer Books I’ve read. The stories are happening simultaneously for all of the different characters so throughout this book I found myself thinking, “Oh, this is when Walker and Jane do this…” or “This is when Noah and Cat are doing that…” Such a fun concept! I can’t even imagine the planning this sort of thing takes. 7 authors, 7 interconnected stories taking place at the same time in the same place. Genius. This one is probably my favorite so far. I really liked Capri’s character and the ending was adorable. I’ve never read anything by Jess Heileman until now so I’m excited to look into her other books. I’m a huge fan of her writing in this story.
