After getting arrested in New York, 14 year old Peak is sent to live with his estranged father who runs a climbing company guiding people on Mount Everest. Soon Peak is on Mount Everest and headed for the summit.
I remember that I read this book as a child and really enjoyed it. Reading it now, it still holds up and is even better than I remember it being! This book had me captivated right from the beginning. The whole concept of Everest has always been interesting to me, and for all I know, this book is why. I like how the book is written as if it is Peak’s journal that he has to keep for a writing assignment for school. I love Peak and Sun-jo’s friendship, how it develops throughout, and the sacrifices that they make for each other. I would highly recommend this book to readers of any age.
