While working undercover on a German military base, investigative reporter Elle Jameson stumbles across some information that might get her killed. When she tries to report it, things go south. With the help of the guardians, she has to go on the run.

On the run—what a perfect way to describe this book. From the very first page, things were moving at lightning speed and they didn’t slow down until the very end. After the end, really. And it was great. It was fun to read Nolan’s story after being introduced to him in the previous book. I was slightly annoyed with Elle though. She made a few dumb choices, but, you know, everything worked out in the end. My favorite part would have to be when they were traveling on the ferry. I thought that whole situation was funny and very unexpected. I also loved the phone calls with my favorite couple: Kade and Renee. After I read every Guardian book, it makes me want to go back and read theirs again.

This can be read as a standalone, but might be enjoyed more fully after reading the previous books in the series.
