After breaking one too many rules, Logan, the President’s son, gets shipped off to Alaska to live with an ex-secret service member and his daughter Maddie. Logan hasn’t seen Maddie, his childhood best friend, since an incident 6 years ago.

This book was funny, fast paced, and full of Alaska trivia. I love how the beginning started out with Logan and Maddie as kids. We got to read a little bit about their friendship and the incident that caused them to be separated before we jumped to present time, 6 years later. Maddie was so funny and girly but outdoorsy at the same time. It was the perfect balance. And I love how Logan didn’t know the first thing about Alaska. Their friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers situation was nice.

I’ve read this book multiple times, and the ending catches me off guard every single time. I never remember what happens, and I love it. The crazy twists are unexpected, and I love how everything makes sense in the end and comes full circle. If you like Ally Carter’s other YA books, you’ll like this one.
