Poppy Hart is in line at a coffee shop in town when she makes an impulsive decision while being pestered by a mean girl from her high school past. She grabs the arm of the man in front of her and pretends he is her boyfriend. Mercifully, he goes along with it. One thing leads to another and the two are thrown into a fake relationship.

This small-town fake dating romance was super fun to read! My Phony Valentine was full of fun characters (the Grandma was a personal favorite) and I found myself smiling as I read it more often than not… I instantly found myself rooting for the male lead, Dallas, regardless of his Bad Boy reputation and all the negative press surrounding his career as a professional hockey player. This story is set in a town called Loveland, where they take Valentine’s Day very seriously. I would recommend reading this book any time of year, not just February.  It brought me so much joy!
