Mariana and Terry had a summer romance 10 years ago. They agreed to meet on Christmas Eve, but it didn’t happen. When Mariana works toward purchasing a Christmas Village in her town, the last thing she expects is to run into Terry again.

I love a cute, second chance romance–especially one that takes place at Christmas! But this book was rough for me. I couldn’t stand our main character, Mariana. She was an emotionally detached, corporate robot who couldn’t seem to stay upright. Seriously, she was clumsier than Bella Swan. I couldn’t get myself to care about anything in the story because our main character didn’t either. When there happened to be some emotion in the story, it was from Mariana’s best friend, Hazel, and it was over the top. For example–crying over her broken heart because she just met the love of her life (that day) and it won’t work out because he lives in a different country… so we either had no emotion at all, or way too much. It seemed so unrealistic and unrelatable. The whole storyline of our main character wanting to buy the Christmas Village was fine, but I wasn’t that into it. I blame the corporate robot’s perspective on all the things. I will admit that I’ve read #3 in this series and I absolutely loved it! (Our review will be up soon!) I would say, skip this one, but give the others a chance.

When it comes to the Christmas vibes of the book I’d give it 4 out of 5 Christmas Trees. Fair amount of Christmas cheer coming from the Christmas Village.
