Amberlyn is an FBI agent working to stop an antigovernment group from causing more harm to the country. After a personally devastating bombing, Amberlyn goes to the white house to present the case information to The President. During the debriefing, one of the military aides notices one particular detail in the file… the suspect is wearing a high school football championship ring from his old high school. Luke is assigned to work the case with Amberlyn, landing him in the last place he wanted to be: his 15-year high school reunion.

Traci Hunter Abramson had me hooked from the very beginning of this story. I really enjoyed the investigative aspect of Hometown Vendetta. The amount of research they did throughout the book was insane. The way they were crossing suspects off their lists based on online profiles and news articles was fascinating. I really enjoyed Luke and Amberlyn as characters and the small-town setting of the story. I thought it was fun reading about Luke returning to his hometown despite his feelings toward Pine Falls and its residents. I feel like it made him a very lovable character. It was amusing how Amberlyn kept making him go out and socialize because they needed to investigate all of his old high school “friends.” I didn’t expect the story to take the twists it did. It was a wild ride! I’m excited to read the next one!
