Beth, Portia, and Eddie have to recreate a road trip their family took many years ago in order to get their inheritance. Each of them have secrets and will stop at nothing to get what is theirs.

What on earth did I just read?!? That was insane! I kid you not, I finished this book at about 10:30 PM and I was still thinking about that ending at about 1 AM, as I lay in bed, unable to sleep, because, like, what?!?

For the vast majority of this book I was wondering where this was all going. Everyone was keeping secrets, we’ve got weird things happening all over the place, and stuff isn’t adding up… Which is normal for a Samantha Downing book. I’m still not entirely sure that everything came together in the end like it usually does in her books, but perhaps, this time, that was the point…

I’m almost having to refrain from re-reading this book right now to see if there were clues that I missed. But, I feel like this feeling I'm having about this book is all due to that stinking ending!! Don’t get me wrong, I loved it! I just also feel sort of betrayed… I really don’t wanna spoil anything about it so that’s all I can say on that topic.

As far as Samantha Downing books go, this one isn’t my new favorite, but I definitely enjoyed my time reading it. Well, for the most part. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good psychological thriller. Just be warned, this one has a lot more language in it than any of her other books that I’ve read.
