Matthew Perry details his life story including his time on Friends and his struggle with addiction.

After listening to Haley James Scott's book (Dinner For Vampires), I thought to myself, I am going to try to listen to another book. So I picked Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, because who doesn’t love Chandler Bing?

Can I just say that his life story is tragic! Hearing about all the crap he went through and how many times he relapsed… It kinda broke my heart. It’s also tragic that this book came out in 2022 and he passed away in 2023. It just shows how terrible addiction can be.

I do feel the need to say that I was often confused while listening to the book about what time period he was talking about. He doesn’t necessarily go in chronological order. I do think that it would probably have been easier to tell when he was switching to a different time period if I was physically reading the book. I imagine he would have added those paragraph breaks or something to indicate a new time period.

Overall I really enjoyed listening to his story, as tragic as it was, and would recommend it to anyone who knows who Matthew Perry is. Even if you’ve never heard of him, I dare say you would find his story interesting.
