FOR YOUR OWN GOOD
SAMANTHA DOWNING
Middle Sister

5 Stars
Teddy Crutcher loves teaching, but he hates entitled kids who think they deserve it all just because their parents are rich. Teddy makes it his life mission to knock those kids down a peg and teach them to be better adults than their entitled parents.
If I had to describe this book with one word it would be… brilliant! I am in love with this book! As soon as I started reading and well after I had finished, I couldn’t stop talking about it. And I am still talking/thinking about it today! I am about to go purchase every single book that Samantha Downing has ever written.
From the very beginning to the very end, every detail was accounted for and the story came full circle. I had many *gasps* throughout this book, and I loved each and every one of them! As I was finishing the book, me and my sister were having a sort of book date. I can’t tell you how many times I turned to her and said, “And the plot thickens.”
Throughout the book our main character Teddy thinks he is helping these kids by what he is doing. With each “mistake” that the cops make, he feels he needs to do something else to help correct it, leading to further “mistakes”. I truly believe that Teddy thought he was helping, in a twisted way, but still, he thought it was for the good of his students.
I could go on about this book for hours but I’ll end it here. Five outta five stars, brilliant, one of the best books I have ever read. If you couldn’t tell, I Love This Book! Highly recommend to all lovers of a thriller book!

For Your Own Good was a wild ride. I didn’t predict anything correctly in this story. There were so many diabolical things happening throughout the book and for a good amount of time, I had no idea who was responsible for what. It was crazy to watch this disastrous situation play out. I enjoyed the private school setting. It reminded me of Chilton in Gilmore Girls, with a dark twist. And I enjoyed the way the story was told from multiple points of view. Is it weird to say that I wish I understood Teddy better? I would have enjoyed a little more backstory on him and his wife–something to explain or justify his behavior. I think I would have been more invested if I knew more about him. What we saw of Teddy was fairly superficial in my opinion. And that goes for the rest of the characters, as well. That being said, I’d still recommend it for those who like a thriller/mystery. I can’t really comment on the ending without giving anything away so if you want to chat about it, reach out on social media or through our email. I’d love to hear what you thought!
