My sweet little baby woke up and needed to be snuggled back to sleep during the night, so I picked up my book for a few minutes. When I read during the wee hours of the morning like this, everything is so vivid. It feels so real. I only had about 30 pages left in Empire of Storms. I read until my baby was ready to go back into her crib and then I tried to be a responsible adult and get 45 more minutes of sleep before I had to get up for work instead of finishing the last pages. But it was too late. I was already wrecked from what happened in the story. I couldn’t go back to sleep so I finished the book. I got up and got ready, went to work, and couldn’t figure out why everyone was as acting so normal. Things were not ok! I was not ok! I won’t give away any details here. This is the 5th book in the series so there’s been a lot leading up to this point. All I’m going to say is that this book had me hooked all the way through. We read from multiple characters’ perspectives. All of their stories were engaging and their plots intertwined so beautifully. I couldn’t read fast enough. This book got a little spicy though. The others have been very vague when it came to intimate moments, but this one took it to the next level. In the second half of the book there are multiple spicy scenes. I would say there are 3 or 4 moderately descriptive moments but they’re easy to gloss over and move on from if that bothers you. This series has been so good! I highly recommend it!
