Roxy has worked with her office nemesis, Jeff, for years. When their boss asks them to work on a long-term project together, she’s tempted to say no. But his comment about being a professional irks her into quickly accepting the job. At least she has her online friend and their project to look forward to after the long days of work.

If you like Just Got Mail, you’ll love this book. It was so cute! I loved every page. I was immediately sucked into the story by the author’s entertaining writing. This was one of those books where I was so consumed with the story that I didn’t want to do anything other than read until I finished it. The main characters, Roxy and Jeff, were very amusing to read about. They really did start out as enemies in the workplace. It was fun to read their argumentative banter knowing they were also communicating with each other online. I really am a sucker for this storyline. Roxy suffers from social anxiety and I’ve never read a book about a character with this level of anxiety. I found it to be eye opening. The author’s note explains how she wanted to bring more awareness to social anxiety and I thought she handled it really well. I really felt for Roxy and what she was going through. Especially when her parents were telling her she “just wasn’t trying hard enough.”

If anything, I would have loved a little more explanation to Jeff’s claims at the end of the book. I believe him, I just would have liked a little more in that moment. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll let you read it and let us know what you think.

Dance with Me on New Year’s Eve took place over 8-9 months leading up to New Year’s Eve. I thought the timing was beautifully done without it seeming to drag on. I really, really enjoyed this book! I highly recommend it. Also, I realized it is book #3 in the Love & Holidays series. I haven’t read the other ones so I’m going to tell you that this can be read as a standalone. And I may or may not have already started reading one of the other Love & Holiday books. I’m so glad I stumbled across this book!
