When Naomi applied for a new job within her company, she didn’t realize she’d be moving to Harvest Hollow–the town where her casual summer fling currently lives. As much as she tried to keep things casual, her feelings became much more and she ended things before she and her son, Liam, could get hurt. Unfortunately, she can’t stop thinking about Camden. And judging by Liam’s new hockey obsession, he really misses him too.

I love the Appies! In all honesty, I’ve been putting off this book because I didn’t want the series to be over… but I finally decided it was time. I really enjoyed getting back to this team and their friendships. That’s one of my favorite things about this series. The Appies are family. I love the lengths they go to for one another. The Dream Team’s group chat cracks me up every time! The ladies had a group chat in this book and it was really fun to see that as a representation of their strong bonds as the ‘First Hockey Ladies.’ They don’t like the term WAGs–Wives and Girlfriends.

Funny story, my sisters have dived into the world of real hockey. Yes, I’ve been the one reading the hockey romances, but they decided to become real hockey fans. In an effort to keep up with them, I’ve been trying to learn. This book had little nuggets of hockey info that was actually really fun to read as a recent hockey fan. Liam, the main character’s 10-year-old son, becomes obsessed with hockey and has a wealth of knowledge. When he mentioned Sidney Crosby’s assist ranking, I knew who that was! I thought that was so fun! Later in the story, Liam was explaining some of the rules to his mom and I learned a few things myself. Emma St. Clair and Jenny Proctor have become real fans of hockey as they wrote this series and I feel like it shows in these later books.

Obviously, I love all the characters in this series. It’s been fun to see the past main characters in the storyline of the current characters as they navigate their own relationship. The cross over between the Oakley Island series was a fun element as well. Honestly, Naomi isn’t my favorite. I don’t feel like I can relate to her with her flighty personality, but I love how protective she was as a mother. Liam was adorable and entertaining. Looking back on it, I feel like Camden has been a pretty quiet character. I don’t remember much about him, so it was fun to get to know him in this book.

This is a favorite series of mine! Even if you aren’t a fan of real hockey, you can’t help but love this team for their character and the way they care for each other. I highly recommend you check it out! I can’t get enough of the Appies!
