Evangeline has no memory of her past or how she ended up married to the Prince. He promised to protect her and keep her safe from the harm that seems to follow her, but she can't help but feel like something is wrong.

A Curse for True Love is the last book in the Once Upon a Broken Heart series. We jumped right into the story where we left off at the cliffhanger ending from book #2. I was relieved that no time was lost in the transition. I've loved this series. The characters are fun and the story is captivating. I loved Evangeline and her strong belief in hope and happily ever after. You know I can't help but see all the good in Jacks... I'm right there with Evangeline on that one.

As much as I've enjoyed this series, I thought the ending of this book was a little abrupt. There were a few things that happened that weren't followed up with an explanation. To a certain extent, I think a little bit of mystery in an ending is satisfying. I don't mind the explanation of my own theories. But in this situation, there was too much left unexplained. There was a plot twist toward the end of the book that changed my understanding of one character's curse, so the ending of the story left things a little unresolved for me. I'm happy with the ultimate ending, I just would have liked a little more explanation of the magic in this scenario. There was potential for so much more.

I was really looking forward to more information on Jacks' past. There was a little bit, but not very much. This book didn't have any major reveals. I feel like they took place in book #2. As the series finale, I had higher expectations. Compared to the high stakes adventures that took place in the first books, this one's pace felt a little slower. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed my time reading this book, I just think I would have enjoyed it more if Evangeline got her memory back sooner and there was more to the story than that.

The Once Upon a Broken Heart series has become one of my favorites! I really loved the storylines, the setting, the magic, and of course... Jacks.
