AUDIOCHOICE

If you’re a big audiobook listener, you might find AudioChoice an exciting new option. AudioChoice is a private audiobook player that finds sensitive content and lets you decide what to hear, and what to skip. There are several customizable filters you can adjust:

-Blasphemy

-Drugs & Alcohol

-Profanity

-Self-Harm & Suicide

-Sexual Content

-Violence

Within each filter, you’ll find different levels of content you can adjust to your liking. We’ve had the opportunity to try AudioChoice for ourselves and we loved the ability to customize the filters.

How it Works:

1. Download the AudioChoice App

2. Import audiobook file.

   1. At this point, you need to own the audiobook. (We purchased the audiobook from Audible). Download the file, convert the audio to a compatible format, and import the file to the AudioChoice App.

   2. *It was a process at first, but after doing it once, it was easy to repeat.

3. Select desired filters.

4. Listen without hearing the sensitive content you’d rather skip.

5. There are also options for setting up parental controls with a protected PIN.

Our Experience:

We really enjoyed using AudioChoice to listen to books we never would have picked up otherwise. We were impressed with the filter’s ability to cut out the specific content we requested with the filter settings. When it came to profanity, the app would filter out the whole sentence, or majority of the phrase. Same goes for the sexual content. Depending on the filter levels we selected, AudioChoice cut out enough content that we didn’t hear anything we didn’t want to hear, while still getting the idea of what was going on in the story. You can tell when the content is being skipped. Sometimes it will skip mid-sentence, but that’s kind of the point… The app isn’t rewriting the story, it’s filtering the story for our sensitive ears ☺ You can adjust the filters at any point in the story, so it’s easy to pause the book, tailor the settings to your specific preferences, and continue the story right then and there.
